Melton Group Boosts Local Charity Fundraising

As many charities across Worcestershire face a daunting time to raise funds for invaluable community support services, Melton Group have stepped in to provide resources and premises to charities such as Heartstart Malvern, Leonard Cheshire and The Marvellous Malvern Makers.

Covid-19 has not only decimated families and businesses, but charities have also increasingly become stretched as fundraising events have been cancelled and public donations reduced due to uncertainty and redundancies. The Melton Group, based in Malvern, who have been supporting the healthcare sector with environmental cleaning aspart of infection prevention and control (IPC) throughout the pandemic, have increased their local charity support to ensure vital community services can be provided.

Heart start Malvern, a community resuscitation scheme, is a very special charity which we support by providing free storage space and fundraising activities such as sponsored walks. In addition we have been delighted to provide hand sanitiser gel, free of charge, to LeonardCheshire, a charity who helps individuals to live, learn and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability. Not forgetting assisting where we can with premises and fabric for The Marvellous Malvern Makers, who have worked tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to make scrubs and face masks, with all the proceeds then going to support the NHS and a variety of local charities.”

She adds “It’s so important that we all pull together at this time as a complete community, to help local businesses and aid local charities, and encourage other businesses to provide support if they can. For us it’s not about the recognition, it’s about making a positive impact so that we all support each other at this difficult time.”
